Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold’s Chipset Revealed: What to Expect

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold, its first smartphone with three foldable segments will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

The clue came from code discovered in a beta build of One UI 8, where the TriFold appears under the internal codename “q7mq” and is tied to the model number “SM8750,” which matches the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

That’s no surprise, Samsung’s already using this top-tier processor in both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy S25. But confirming it in the TriFold signals that the company isn’t cutting corners on performance for its most experimental foldable yet.

Leaks suggest the Galaxy Z TriFold will feature a large (~10‑inch) internal OLED screen with two inward folds, a triple-camera setup (likely mirroring the Z Fold 7), and an initial launch in markets like South Korea and China before global rollout. Expected debut is around October 2025.
